Safety Starts with You
Have you heard of Safe Kids Worldwide? This is a program we are proud to offer locally here at Shannon. It is a global nonprofit organization that has several chapters throughout the country, all aimed at creating more effective safety practices for children.
Safe Kids in San Angelo is led by Shannon Medical Center, which provides dedicated and caring staff, operation support, and other resources to assist in achieving our common goal: keeping your kids safe.
At Shannon, we believe that all parents should have the help they need to keep their children healthy and safe.

Keeping Kids Safe Throughout Tom Green County
Safe Kids Worldwide provides support, education, and other resources to parents in San Angelo and throughout Tom Green County. Based on the needs of the community, this coalition implements evidence-based programs, including:
- Car seat checkups
- Safety workshops
- Sports clinics
- Recall information
- And more
These programs help both new and seasoned parents better understand child safety tips from experts in the field. The overall goal of this coalition is to prevent serious childhood injuries by teaching parents how to keep their kids out of harm’s way.
