Non-Invasive Fetal Testing & 3D Sonograms
Non-invasive fetal tests were designed to help obstetricians determine if there are any chromosome abnormalities present in a developing fetus. Your OBGYN may recommend this safe screening if you have risk factors, are over 35 years old, or if you have previously given birth to a baby with a chromosomal condition. The test is performed after 10 weeks of pregnancy and will not only identify specific chromosomal conditions, such as Down syndrome, but also identifies the baby’s sex.
During the 28-32 week of pregnancy, we also offer 3D sonograms. This innovative ultrasound creates hyper detailed images of your baby’s features as well as assist your OBGYN in spotting potential issues such as spina bifida or craniofacial abnormalities. Each session is approximately 30 minutes, and we offer appointments at both our Shannon Clinic Harris and Shannon Imaging Center.
