Shannon Downtown Campus Construction Expands Access for Patients

At Shannon, we’re always looking for ways to better serve our family, our friends and our community. Recent expansions to our downtown campus bring new, exciting treatments and better access to exceptional healthcare for our patients. Here’s an update on each of our downtown expansion projects:

West Tower Expansion – Coming Summer 2024

Opening in summer 2024, the West Tower addition at Shannon Medical Center (120 E. Harris Avenue) will expand our patient capacity and improve parking at the downtown hospital.

  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU) capacity doubled
  • Three new floors of patient rooms
  • Total of 100 additional beds available at downtown hospital
  • Three levels of additional parking

Shannon Women’s and Children’s Hospital Construction – Completed

Recent additions to the Shannon Women’s and Children's Hospital (201 E. Harris Avenue) are bringing a new level of care for families and specialized nursery care for our tiniest patients.

  • New observation unit
  • Four new state-of-the-art labor and delivery rooms
  • Two new operating rooms
  • More patient rooms
  • Board-certified neonatologist for our Specialty Care Nursery (NICU)

Shannon Cancer Center – Now Open

The new Shannon Cancer Center (131 E. Beauregard Avenue) is ushering in a new era of high-quality oncology care in West Texas in a specially designed space with all cancer services under one roof.

  • Fully staffed on-site pharmacy
  • Patient support and navigation services
  • Streamlined access to Shannon specialists
  • Certified tattoo- and mark-free radiation treatment – the only program of its kind in the western half of Texas.
  • 28-chair infusion clinic
