Are you currently attending an undergraduate or graduate university? At Shannon, we are happy to offer a selection of student shadowing and externship opportunities for those attending accredited colleges with interest in the medical field.

We are also proud to offer the Margaret Shannon Tuition Assistance Program to students showing promise in high-quality healthcare services. This scholarship covers 100% of the selected student’s tuition, books, and other fees, and is paid directly to the educational institution by Shannon. Learn more here!
Learning Opportunities For Youth
Shannon offers a variety of educational and career exploration programs for students interested in pursuing exploration programs for students interested in pursuing healthcare careers.
Shannon Learner Shadowing Program
For students 16 years and older who are interested in shadowing healthcare professionals, the Shannon Learner Program offers an excellent opportunity to observe healthcare roles and gain valuable insights into the medical field.
How to Apply:
- Inquire About the Program: Email Students@shannonhealth.org to express interest in the program and request an application.
- Department Approval: Obtain approval from the Shannon department where you will be completing your shadowing rotation. Email approval is required before we can proceed with the clearance process.
- Final Clearance: After receiving department approval and HR clearance, the final step is obtaining your Shannon Learner Badge.

Our Shannon Career Camp, Shannon Medical Camp, and Shannon Nursing Camp provide hands-on experiences in healthcare fields for students ages 15-18. These camps offer a valuable opportunity to explore different healthcare roles while gaining practical skills.
- Who can apply? Students aged 15-18 who are interested in exploring healthcare careers.
- How to apply: Applications will be sent upon request. To apply, please reach out to Students@shannonhealth.org to begin the application process.
- When? Registration opens in march each year, with camps held in June.
