About Provider Allihien

Dr. Allihien is originally from the West African nation of Ghana, but spent his early childhood in Côte d’Ivoire, a French-speaking country. This unique upbringing enabled him to become fully bilingual in English and French. Driven by a deep passion for medical education, he pursued a Master of Public Health following medical school, where he established a strong foundation in research methodologies. He has since published in many reputable journals includingthe BMC Infectious Diseases, the Journal of American College of Cardiology: Advances and the American Journal of Case Reports to mention a few.

Dr Allihien early career was uniquely exciting and diverse. Working as an offshore doctor he was regularly flown by helicopter to oil rigs situated in the Atlantic Ocean, where he was responsible for providing medical care for workers in a remote and challenging environment. He also worked as an on-set doctor during the production of the series Black Earth Rising - a co-production between BBC Two and Netflix.

Dr. Allihien’s passion for medical education and mentorship was apparent particularly during his medical residency, where he distinguished himself as the head of the Rapid Response Committee. He was instrumental in designing an innovative rotation curriculum that empowered residents to develop as both medical educators and leaders. Dr. Allihien remains deeply committed to guiding resident physicians in the practice of evidence-based medicine, emphasizing a compassionate and patient-centered approach.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Allihien cherishes time spent with his wife and children. A passionate singer, he has led several choirs, inspiring others through music. In addition to English and French, he is fluent in Nzema, and Twi.
