Registration is open for the 19th Annual Shannon Sporting Clay Shoot on July 21 at the San Angelo Claybird Association. The event is the largest charity shoot in Texas attracting more than 500 shooters and 1,500 spectators each year. The registration fee is $150 per shooter.

The shoot features two shooting rotations. The first rotation is Saturday, July 21 at 8:30 am and the second begins Saturday at noon. Shooters will get to shoot one of three courses during a rotation with 100 targets per course. A silent auction will take place from 8 am to 3 pm. Multiple guns and gift cards will be given away by random draw during the exciting live auction which rounds out the event.

Each year, proceeds of the Clay Shoot benefit multiple departments at Shannon. The programs benefitting from the 2018 event include AirMed1-regional outreach, Diabetes Management Outreach, Oncology Angel Fund, Patient Benevolence, Nurse Education, and Shannon Care Coordination.

"Shannon is proud to celebrate 19 years of putting on a locally-produced and sponsored shoot," said Connie Whitman, sporting clay shoot coordinator. "The programs benefiting from the shoot help patients undergoing treatment and their families, as well as provide additional education and equipment for those providing care. The incredible support from sponsors and shooters throughout our region keeps this event growing each year and helps us make a difference for patients in the Concho Valley."
