Amon Zakeri, MD – Endovascular Neurosurgery

Dr. Zakeri received his undergraduate degree from The George Washington University in Washington. D.C. before earning his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences in Toledo, Ohio. He then completed his residency in neurological surgery and fellowship in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. His research interests include quality improvement to optimize patient outcomes in stroke and investigation of novel devices for treatment of cerebrovascular disorders.

Dr. Zakeri joins the Brain and Spine Institute at Shannon. As a dual-trained endovascular neurosurgeon, he will provide both open and endovascular treatment for stroke, brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, carotid stenosis, subdural hematomas, and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Estela Rodriguez Alonso, MD – Internal Medicine

Dr. Rodriguez, originally from Spain, brings a rich and diverse background to her medical practice. She earned her bachelor's degree in Medical Humanities from Baylor University before pursuing her medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. Her passion for internal medicine led her to complete residency training at Stamford Hospital/Columbia University Internal Medicine Residency Program, where she distinguished herself as Chief Resident. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Before joining the Shannon team, Dr. Rodriguez practiced in Conroe, Texas, where she spent the last four years providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients. She has a strong clinical interest in preventive medicine and the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Rodriguez values building strong, trusting relationships with her patients and is excited to serve the San Angelo community.

Yaseen Saleh, MD – Emergency Medicine

Dr. Saleh received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He then completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida. Dr. Saleh is fluent in Spanish.

Jonathan Kouts, DO – Emergency Medicine

Dr. Kouts received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University – Hawaii and his medical degree from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He then completed his emergency medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. He is fluent in Spanish.
