A unique healing environment for patients and their families.
Located just outside the Shannon Oncology Center, The Garden of Hope welcomes anyone whose life has been touched by the difficult test of cancer. It is a place where patients may rest and relax or choose to receive their therapy while being surrounded by nature. The garden provides a beautiful healing landscape for patients indoors as well, as they can enjoy its beauty from the large windows inside the oncology treatment room. The garden was designed to provide a unique healing environment for patients and their families while they receive their treatments.
The center of the garden features a stone fountain surrounded by brick pavers in the shape of a teardrop. The perimeter is lined with flower beds filled with beautiful flowers and shrubs. An oak tree provides cool shade for patients and their families. The garden also includes an angel of hope and a dedicated cross guarded by three white boulders where individuals may reflect in prayer.
Dedicated last summer, the garden serves as a testament to our community’s love for one another and a lasting contribution for individuals and families through gifts dedicated to those who have been touched by cancer. The space came to fruition through the work of volunteers and donors, but there are still opportunities to honor or memorialize a loved one. We invite you to join us in enjoying this special place and helping perpetuate its beauty, providing a lasting place of hope for cancer patients. If you are interested, we have opportunities to contribute to help support the ongoing work in the garden. Contributions may be made in honor of a loved one and are available at varying levels, beginning at $25.
Seeds of Hope
Help perpetuate the beauty of The Garden of Hope so it will remain a special place for all who may seek its peace and serenity. Seeds of Hope contributions are put toward ongoing plant and landscape maintenance in the garden. These contributions are available at $25, $50 and $100.
Personalized pavers
The teardrop in the middle of the garden is formed out of brick pavers. Pavers may be purchased in honor or memory of family members and loved ones. The pavers may include three lines of text with 12 characters per line and can be purchased for $150.
To provide patients and families with a place to find solace and serenity while creating an atmosphere of healing for the mind, body and spirit, will always be the promise of The Garden of Hope.
