It’s time to Tee Off!

Fight breast cancer at the fourth annual Tee Off for Ta-Tas golf tournament. All proceeds benefit the Cancer Empowerment & Resource Center at Shannon.

Sarah Post has graciously served as a volunteer at the Tee Off for Ta-Tas golf tournament since it began four years ago—and she has an immense reason for doing so. “I am a three-year breast cancer survivor,” Post says.

“I received so much support and love from my family, friends, church and people I didn’t even know that I want to pay it forward. I have a new perspective of what is really important in life.”

During October, breast cancer awareness is placed in the spotlight locally and nationally, but this disease affects women of all ages throughout the entire year.

“Regular screenings saved my life, and I want to help increase awareness of the importance of getting mammograms and living a healthy lifestyle,” Post says. “Women must be proactive and decrease as many risk factors as possible so they can be around to take care of others and accomplish their life goals.”

Post is excited to be a part of the golf tournament again this year.

“It’s a wonderful day filled with golf course games, hole-in-one prizes, good food and an exciting bra drop from a helicopter for a chance to win money,” she says. “The sponsors and players are so generous in their donations. Every penny stays here in San Angelo and supports our efforts for better screening and care of those who will fight this battle. I feel fortunate to live in a community that is so giving.”

Entry fee includes lunch, food on the golf course, dinner after play, complimentary beverages, player’s gift and Ta-Ta fun! All proceeds benefit the Cancer Empowerment & Resource Center at Shannon. For more information or to register, call 325-944-8575.

Not a golfer? Join us again this year for the Bra Drop! For a $10 donation, enter an unwanted bra that will be dropped from a helicopter. The bra that lands closest to the pink ribbon target wins a prize! Bras may be dropped off at the Cancer Empowerment & Resource Center at Shannon, 102 N. Magdalen, Suite 130, or purchased at registration  on the day of the tournament.
